Whats thicker,oil or water?

So... The controversy has started with Vogue Italia's shoot by Steven Meisel when the issue arose about the 250 000 barrels of oil that was spilt off the coast of Alaska. People are ranting and raving, throwing all kinds of lines and remarks out there and making an unnecessary scene. To me this is simple. It’s a fact and it is the cut and dry raw truth, so we must deal with it.

It is said that there is allot more history behind this issue and Vogue Italia can't just create an unnecessary shoot for such a serious matter. To be honest with you, it shouldn't matter what history is out there. Vogue Italia can put out that disturbing photo shoot and they did exactly that. Vogue Italia might just want to get the attention by being proactive but they certainly did make an awaking statement that got all in deep thought. After all they are not doing any harm right?
It is said that it is great to raise awareness but why raise it if you don't have suggestions to help. We feel there is no need to suggest a solution. Steven Meisel can't do all the work for all of us.
People will defend themselves when accused of being guilty, it's natural, but stop trying to find excuses in the cost of the fashion or make-up used and take a look at the bigger picture. It couldn't be made any clearer, in my opinion. Rather get mad at who inspired the artist to go so far as to create such awareness.
